Update...kind of long, sorry!

It's weird to think how quick Christmas can come and go. It seems like there is such a huge fuss over it, and then it is over within hours. But, of course I still love Christmas and everything about it.

This year I was at home with my parents and Karen, Greg, and Kaleb came up. It was really weird not having more of the siblings home, but I was able to sleep in my own bed, so it worked out alright. I did miss the rest of you though, and I'm glad you all had a Merry Christmas at your own homes this year. Meanwhile, we had a good time at Grandma and Grandpa's house. We had a great time doing some last minute shopping, playing games, and of course, some great meals! I think every night that Karen and Greg were here we played games. The favorites ended up being Yahtzee and Farkle. Good times. And of course it was so fun playing with Kaleb all week. He is such a little stud and is always fun to be around. I have a lot of really cute pictures of him, but I'm currently on my sister's computer and do not have my pictures available at the moment. I will try to put a few on soon!

As I mentioned earlier, I am at my sister's house. My parents and I are staying here tonight and flying out to Colorado tomorrow morning. We are very excited to get to see Kevin and his beautiful family and spend a few days with them. I was lucky enough to see them just in October when I went out with some friends from school. But usually, I only get to see them once or twice a year. It's not very fun because I would really like to see them more. Well, I really just wish they lived closer so we could all see them more. But unfortunately, that's not an option right now. I spent the summer of 2007 living with them, and I am so glad that I had that chance. It was a great time for me to get away from Utah and try something new. Along with something new it was just a great time to spend time with Kevin, Jill, and the kids and get to know them better. I am very grateful and appreciate them for their kindness and hospitality and letting me take over their basement. :) Thanks Kevin and Jill!!

School starts January 7, and I'll be honest, I am ready to go back! It has been a nice break, but it has been kind of long. I haven't been working, so I've just been bumming around and playing with friends and family. Which, is great, but sometimes I just want to be doing something more... yes, even going to class and working. Weird huh? :) This is my last semester in Rexburg, so I'm kind of having mixed emotions about it. It's weird to think that this is my fourth and final year there. It actually makes me sad. Basically because now I am used to Rexburg, and I am comfortable up there. But, come April, I will have to start over. I have to find a job and grow up. Uh-oh! I am actually excited for a new chapter in my life, but I am the type of person that likes to have some sort of plan... and well, right now, I don't really have one. Haha... so we'll see how it all turns out! My plan for this semester is to enjoy every day of it, just because it is my last and I know I won't be able to do it again!

My heart and prayers are with the Jorgensen and Johnson families at this time. Erik and Jesse were great guys, and they will be missed dearly. I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas, and that you will have a Happy New Year to go along with it!!

Nog Fest '08

Every December my friends throw what they call, Nog Fest. It is a Christmas party they host, and you are highly encouraged to wear ugly sweaters. At Nog Fest they have of course, Egg Nog, Guitar Hero, a dart competition, prizes for the winners with the ugliest sweaters, and more fun and games.

Lindsey, Brittany, and me in front of the Christmas Tree
My roommate Lindsey and I went to the D.I. to look for some ugly sweaters. Last year I tried this, and I found a Christmas sweater, but I didn't think it was that ugly. This year, we scored pretty big. I found this great looking sweater vest type thing, and Lindsey found a burnt orange cardigan type sweater. Brittany ended up wearing a sweater of mine cause she didnt' get a chance to buy her own ugly sweater. (If you think her sweater is ugly than you have bad taste. It's from H & M!!!!)
Bryce and Doug with their ugly sweaters
Bryce and the girls
The competition for the evening- ugly sweater finalists
With the makers of Nog Fest '08
The party was really fun and we all had a good time. The crowd seemed to die down pretty fast though, around 10:45 it was pretty much over. I guess that's what happens when there's other things going on in the town, haha.

A few weeks ago in my Anthropology class we were talking about food. The topic of foraging came up, and we discussed how many people have to forage for their food. We have to complete a number of journals throughout the semester. Well, my teacher decided that foraging would be a good journal entry. So he assigned us all to go dumpster diving for something we could eat. Yeah, pretty gross right? Well me and a girl in my class, along with our friend T.C. decided we'd hit up Great Harvest Bread Co. dumpster. (yeah, you're probably wondering if dumpster diving is illegal... I'm pretty sure it is. but only if you get caught...hahah). We were warned about going to Wal*Mart and Broulim's, so that's why we chose Great Harvest. I think we did pretty well. We went around 8:30 pm and right on top was a huge layer of cinnamon rolls. I would say there was about 20-25, untouched (besides dumpster deliciousness) cinnamon rolls. And I'm pretty sure there was some different kind of filling, like strawberry or rasberry, because my fingers were red afterwards.
This is what we found:Don't you just wanna eat 'em?

Crazy Life

Okay, so I have been terrible about updating my blog lately, but I do have an excuse... The semester is winding down and I am ridiculously busy. As of right now, there are only six more days until it is over. I have been at the library any chance I get, trying to get all of the papers and assignments finished which I have just so happened to procrastinate. Most of my work is due by Wednesday, which means, Thursday and Friday will be EASY, let's hope at least. I do plan to do a mega update when I get a chance. But, that chance has yet to come. Wish me luck with my final projects and exams! Hopefully I can make it through this next week without going crazy! And good luck to all the rest of you out there who are going through the same thing! Isn't college just great?!

What am I doing with my Life?! UPDATE...

So, I can't believe how fast this semester has gone by. It seems since I am graduating in April and my days in Rexburg are becoming fewer and fewer, that they are going by faster and faster. What I'm saying is, I can't believe Christmas is in two weeks!!!!!! I can remember thinking over the summer about this year and the two semesters of college I had left to hopefully get my life somewhat figured out. Well, I'm now down to about one and I still don't know what the heck I'm going to do with my life after graduation. I think some people have it easier than others when graduation rolls around, and I feel that I am not one of them. I will be graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Child Development. It is such a broad degree so it's hard to say what I am going to do when I graduate. People are asking me that question a lot lately, and I just keep telling them, "ya know, I'm not quite sure." Which I hate saying, but I have nothing else to say because I really don't know?!?! I've always had a pretty good plan and idea of what my next step in life was going to be. Right now, I got nothin' and it's kind of freakin' me out! My plan after graduation is just to go home for now. My best friend, Abby, has been wanting to move down to Salt Lake together and work down there. This is an option, but I don't have a job, which means no money, which means bad news. So, until then, my parents house it is.

Halloween

I know this is very late, and old news by now, but I told mom I would post some pictures from Halloween.

So on Halloween my two roommates that I am closest with decided to ditch me and go out with two boys, lame I know. They made these plans the night before, around 10 pm. Before that, we were all planning on hanging out... Well, I had talked to some other friends prior to them ditching me, and had kind of planned to hang out with them. So it kind of just worked out that I was ditched anyway, cause I got to hang out with other people.

I ended up going with those friends to a party down in Idaho Falls. I think it was some kind of Institute party or something, because it was in the church right next to the I.F. Temple. Either way, it was the {coolest} church party I've ever been to! They decorated it all over in the gym and hallways. There was food, sumo wrestling, jousting, bungie basketball, and boxing. PLUS, pictures, kareoke, ping-pong, air hockey, a haunted hallway (awesome), and video games. It was a pretty sweet party.

Most of the group before going to the party in Idaho Falls
Me and Brian, a cowgirl and a cowboy
The girls-Cowgirl and Indians

After that party we came back to Rexburg and went to a party at one of the apartments up here. It was really lame. It was outside and it was raining, so it sucked basically. We just decided to go back to the girls apartment and eat pizza and watch a scary movie. Overall, my Halloween was really fun.
