i'm avoiding my homework

i'm working on an assignment for one of my classes and i'm really just getting annoyed with it. so i am taking a break to do another quick post. :) i am really good at procrastinating, in case you were wondering. BUT, i am also very good at getting things done last minute. it's usually when i do my best... haha, well maybe?

just a few things that have been happening up here in rexburg... a few weeks ago my roommates and i made a turkey feast. yes, a feast. it didn't matter to us that it was march not november. britt got a free turkey from work, so we had to have a feast and eat the deliciousness of it. and of course you can't have turkey without potatoes, stuffing, rolls, and salad!! so, after church we got to work peeling potatoes, making dough. mmmm, it was yummy!!

this is the finished product with everything on the table
(and my good lookin' roomies)

after we had finished eating and felt like we were going to pop, we had a brilliant idea... :) brittany started pulling off some meat from one of the turkey legs. after some joking around about throwing it at people or leaving it on their car, we decided it would be a funny idea to actually DO it. so we did.

this is us on our way to be sneaky, bwahaha.

we used rubber bands to hook the leg to the door knob.

(we did this while the boys were at church so nobody was home. and we still haven't told them it was us. i'm deciding whether or not i want to tell them before or after i graduate?? it could be more fun if i told them before. prank wars always make for a good time, right?!)

st. patrick's day was pretty fun at our apartment. i woke up to the smell of yummy waffles. but these weren't just any waffles. they were GREEN waffles!! and boy were they tasty! lindsey sure is going to make a great wife. (haha)

green waffles are a great way to start your day!

later that night we had our bowling tournament. we played in the semi-finals and won, then went on to the championship game right after. let me just tell you, i have never bowled so bad in my life, (well, when it counted at least)! i did awful and completely let my team down. we lost in the championship game. that means, no t-shirt for kami. all four years i have been on intramural teams, hoping to win a championship game and get a t-shirt. every bowling team i have been on has gone as far as either semi-finals or even the championship, and LOST. i guess i just wasn't meant to get one of those t-shirts. oh well, i'll just go buy a new one instead.

linds, britt, and i bowling

this is our team for winter 09. our name was SWIT, which i guess stands for "sick with it." i don't know, rob (not pictured) was the captain and the boys came up with the name. go figure.

this could be bad

i'm sitting at work
thinking about how much
i have to do within the next two weeks,
and i don't want to do
any
of it.
this is going to be a tough two weeks.

some PHOTOS, finally.

i do most of my blogging while i am at work because my computer at home is so incredibly slow. (don't worry, i am still able to do what i need to at work). but because of that, i rarely have my pictures accessible to post. last night i was a thinker though, and i put some recent pictures on my jump drive. you know what that means? i'm going to add PHOTOS. woot. i know i always enjoy reading things more when i have a picture or two (or three or four) to look at as well. so you probably feel the same, right? :)

last weekend i was able to go home for my dad's birthday and my new niece, abby's, baby blessing. everyone was able to come except kevin's family of course. they have a pretty valid excuse though. they live in colorado AND just had a baby themselves on february 27th. we missed you guys!!

kali, just hangin' out on the couch

Interview

The phone interview I was scheduled to have yesterday didn't happen. The person I was supposed to interview with ended up having to go to a meeting, so we have to reschedule. I am still waiting to hear back from her about rescheduling. I will be sure to let everyone know how it goes though. Thanks to all those who are curious and wishing me luck, I appreciate it!

My future? ...Yikes!

Graduation is quickly approaching. Right now I have 4 1/2 weeks left. That is only 21 days of actually attending my classes. The thought running through my mind, "Holy crap! What am I going to do?!" It has been my goal/plan to move down to the Salt Lake/Draper area once I graduate from BYU-Idaho. I figure it will be easier to find a job down there than it would be up in Logan. And, I think getting away {more like staying away} from Cache Valley is probably the best thing for me. I love Happy Valley and going back to see my friends, but let's be honest, I can't move back there. If I go back I would probably live with my parents. Don't get me wrong, I love them and it would be great financially, but socially it would be horrible. I love my friends back home, but I know that if I were to live there I would only ever hang out with old friends and probably never meet any new people. I feel like Cache Valley is not for me... right now.

So for now the search is on for a job. I'm looking for preschool teacher or daycare positions down in that Salt Lake/Draper area. Why Draper you ask? Mainly because I have family down there and they have seemed to like it a lot. So I figure I'll give it a shot. Plus, it didn't hurt that my three sisters found their eternal companions in their singles wards... I'm just saying, maybe it runs in the family?? Who knows?! :)

My sister, Jen, called me with information about Here We Grow Child Development Center who is hiring preschool teachers. Well, I called and they called me back. They asked when I could come in for an interview!! I told him them I was in Idaho but will be graduating in 4 1/2 weeks and am looking for something. Soooo... we have set up a phone interview tomorrow at 2 pm! I am hoping and praying things will work out how they are supposed to! I have searched and found quite a few other preschools and learning centers down in Draper. I am going to call them and see if any of them are hiring. I don't think it will hurt if I apply to several different centers, and who knows, maybe one of them will be lucky enough to have me work for them! :)

Wish me luck! And if you hear of anything in the area of Child Development- daycare, preschool, etc, let me know!! I'd appreciate any help I can get!!

Blogging Slump...

So I'm sure you can all tell that I'm not very good with keeping an updated blog. Boo me. I have a plan in my head, that I am going to try and use blogger more as a type of journal. Not one that is super personal, but just about my life and the thoughts and things that are going on in it... As boring as my life may be, I will try to post at least weekly! Sometimes I feel like I have nothing interesting or important to blog about, and when that happens, I get in a slump.

On a lighter note, Kevin and Jill welcomed little Ashton into their family on February 27, 2009! He's the eighth grandchild for my parents and the fourth child for Kev & Jill. We are all very excited that he is here! Welcome to the clan, Ashton!
